Academic Renovations/Task Labor Approval Process
Academic Renovations/Task Labor/Biology Central Services are all names used to identify the CLAS (College of Liberal Arts & Sciences) department that was established to address renovation schedules required for Academic Areas. Funding may be from individual departments, schools/colleges or from central resources (Provost). In all cases, the list of proposed projects is first approved by the Provost who must decide how limited resources are used for addressing University academic issues.
- As requests are made, Academic Renovations emails an excel file of newly proposed and Provost approved projects to the Grad School Dean’s Office and Budget.
- The Grad School Dean approves or disapproves the new projects on the list.
- The approval date is added in column K. A notation is made in this column if the project is not approved.
- The Grad School Dean’s Office emails the excel file with the new approvals to Budget.
- Plant Funds is notified by Academic Renovations that a project has been approved. Plant Funds prepares a T1 and A1 for each project approved and forwards to Budget.
- Budget approves the funding by signing the T1 and A1 forms and returning to Plant Funds.
- If a project is not approved, Plant Funds or the Grad School will notify the department.
